Where to go as a couple in Patong during the day?
Getting off the main beach, even for ten minutes, changes everything.
Patong beach is long, busy and rarely intimate. The two best options are right next door: a cove you reach by sea, or the neighbouring bay of Kalim.
Kalim, the quiet bay
Just north of Patong, rocky coves and far fewer people. For lunch or a late afternoon in peace, five minutes from the bustle.

Where to watch the sunset together in Patong?
The bay faces west: the sun sets over the Andaman Sea.
From the sand, as the seafront market sets up, it's already beautiful. For the full view, you need to go up: La Gritta, the Amari's restaurant at the south end, looks out over the whole bay.
If you don't mind twenty minutes on the road, Karon, the next bay along, has two trump cards: Karon Viewpoint, with three beaches in one frame, and Dinner in the Sky, a table suspended 50 metres up (from 2,100 ฿ per person, 4,700 ฿ for the sunset session).
What to do as a couple in Patong in the evening?
A show or a table by the water first. Bangla afterwards, if you feel like it.

KUDO Beach Club
On Patong beach: a pool, resident DJs and Italian food. The perfect transition from the beach to the evening.

Around a big central pool, in the middle of the beach: the liveliest atmosphere, late into the night.
Bangla Road, to finish
The pedestrian street, its open-fronted bars and its big clubs, Illuzion and Sugar Club. Save it for the end, if you're in the mood.

Instead of a night in a club
What if your date was Kuala Lumpur and Bali?
Rather than spending €1,000 or €2,000 on clubs and nights out to impress someone, take her (or him) to Kuala Lumpur, then Bali: a drink facing the lit-up Petronas Towers, terraced rice fields, a sunset over the Indian Ocean. A real memory for two, instead of an evening that leaves nothing but the bill.
And if you're staying more than a month, you'll have to leave Thailand anyway: since 15 September 2026, the visa exemption is 30 days, extendable once on the spot. Might as well make it a trip rather than a round trip to the airport.

Where should I take someone in Patong for a first date?
Away from the noise first: Kalim in the quiet of the late afternoon, or the sunset over the bay from a terrace up high. Then dinner, and Bangla Road only if you're both in the mood. Starting with Bangla means giving up on conversation.
How do I get to Freedom Beach from Patong?
By long-tail boat, from the south end of Patong beach, near the Amari: a ten-to-fifteen-minute ride. You step off into shallow water, so keep your phone and papers in a dry bag. We book the boat there and back for you, on quote.
What can couples do in Patong at night?
Simon Cabaret, then a poolside table at one of the beach clubs (KUDO or Barra Cuda), and Bangla Road to finish, only if you're in the mood. Before all that, the sunset over the bay, which faces west.
